We take the yellow trail. It is curvy and rocky and gradually winds uphill. The trees seem to shorten the higher we go. It is not long before we hear the sound of rushing water. Around every turn, I expect to see the waterfall, but we continue to hike for a long time as the sound grows louder and louder. Finally, we round a bend and see a fast flowing river. We are above the waterfall!
There is a bridge over the river. We climb the steps to the bridge and see the most spectacular view of the valley below and the surrounding mountains. We sure are up high! I can’t quite see the top of the waterfall, but there is a fine spray coming up from where the river appears to descend below. The water here is definitely too rough for swimming, so I take out my camera and snap some pictures of the view, the water and of Vi and her family, before we make the long hike back to the cabin.
