As tempted as Larry is to go into the town, he decides to stay in the forest. If this is where he belongs, then surely he can make it home.
Larry is determined to learn how to live in the forest. He spends the next several nights following other raccoons. He watches them hunt, he watches them fish and he watches them gather nuts and berries. He sees where they sleep and how they interact with each other. Larry quickly learns how to live in the forest and the forest soon becomes the only home Larry knows.
