My Dream Jobs

I had such a difficult time deciding which career to write about, so I wrote about all four of the professions remaining on my list. My teacher gave me a B. She said the paper was well thought out and well written, but that the assignment was to choose one dream job, not several. She thought I might benefit from what she called a “career interest assessment.” She scheduled me to go to the school testing center. A test!? She explained it is not a pass or fail test, but is more like a survey that asks a lot of questions and then lists jobs compatible with my interests.

Two days later, I am in the testing center answering questions about my likes and dislikes. Questions along the lines of: Do you like to write? Do you like animals? Do you like to build things? Not surprisingly, the test results confirm that I like a lot of things. Not only does it list careers in biology, real estate, news reporting and computer programming, but it lists five additional professions, including a bus driver! Oh, I could definitely see myself behind the wheel of a giant bus.

Bus.
